Iraqi Forces Deal Devastating Blow to ISIS: Successful Operation Results in Multiple Terrorist Casualties
In a decisive move to combat the remnants of the ISIS terrorist group, Iraqi warplanes launched an air strike targeting ISIS militants in the Diyala governorate. The operation, conducted by Iraqi F-16 fighter jets, was executed based on accurate intelligence information, as stated by the Iraqi Security Media Cell (ISMC) on Thursday.
The ISMC, in its official statement, highlighted the continuous efforts of Iraqi security forces in collaboration with other security agencies to crackdown on the remaining ISIS terrorists. The operation was made possible by the precise information provided by the Iraqi National Security Agency, enabling the Iraqi Air Force to carry out the strike successfully. The Joint Operations Command supervised the entire operation.
After the air strike, security forces promptly conducted a search of the targeted area and discovered two lifeless bodies, along with a handgun and a hand grenade. The discovery of these items indicates the potential threat the ISIS remnants pose to the security and stability of Iraq.
Although Iraq officially announced the liberation of all its territories from ISIS in late 2017, sporadic attacks by the terrorist group continue to challenge the nation's security. Consequently, the Iraqi authorities remain vigilant and consistently launch security operations to pursue and neutralize any remaining ISIS elements.
The air strike in Diyala governorate serves as a testament to Iraq's commitment to eradicate the remnants of ISIS and ensure the safety of its citizens. The successful operation highlights the effectiveness of accurate intelligence gathering and collaborative efforts between various Iraqi security agencies in maintaining peace and stability in the country.
