General Board for Kurdistani Areas Outside the Region Condemns Attack on Farmers in Kirkuk Province, Calls for Implementation of New Constitution

In a statement issued in Kurdish language, the General Board for Kurdistani Areas Outside the Region has condemned the recent attack on Kurdish farmers in Palkana, a village in Kirkuk province. The attack, which occurred on the first day of Ramadan, disrupted the celebrations and turned the joyous occasion into chaos and threats.

The board expressed its deep concern over the ongoing attacks, occupations, and destruction of villages in the region, which continue to take place despite the fall of Saddam Hussein. The board called on the Iraqi government to take responsibility for these actions and put an end to them.

The board also called for the implementation of the new constitution and applicable laws to resolve these issues, as armed attacks and threats will not heal the wounds. The board emphasized that Kurdish citizens in these areas will not remain silent about these actions.

The board acknowledged that the situation in the region is now calm, thanks to the efforts of the loyalists. However, it believes that Article 140 is the general principle for a final solution to the problems. The board called on the Iraqi presidency, ministers, and factions in Baghdad to use their constitutional abilities to implement this article and increase their efforts to eliminate these violations and excesses.

The statement issued by the General Board for Kurdistani Areas Outside the Region serves as a reminder of the ongoing conflict between Kurdish residents and imported Arabs in the Kirkuk province. It also highlights the need for a peaceful and lasting solution to the issue.
