Israeli Air Strikes in Syria Leave Syrian Soldiers and Iranian Revolutionary Guard Members Injured and Dead
Israeli airstrikes in Syria on Sunday and Friday have left five Syrian soldiers and two members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) wounded, according to the Syrian Defense Ministry and Iran’s semi-official Mehr News Agency.
The strikes targeted the T-4 Airbase and al-Dabaa Airport, both strategic locations in Homs province.
The Homs strikes are the ninth Israeli attack in Syria this year and the third in recent days, according to U.K.-based war monitoring group Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
SOHR also reported that four other IRGC officers were killed in Friday’s strike.
Unattributed reports in Israeli media suggest the attacks are connected to a roadside bomb planted by a suspected Hezbollah operative on a highway near the border on March 13.
The Israeli Defense Forces have not commented on any of the incidents, in keeping with their standard policy.
