High-Level Turkish Delegation Visits Ibrahim Khalil Border Gate to Boost Trade with Kurdistan Region

A high-level Turkish delegation, led by Şırnak Governor Birol Ekeçi, visited the Ibrahim Khalil border gate on Tuesday to discuss measures aimed at enhancing trade and economic cooperation between Turkey and the Kurdistan Region.

The delegation was warmly received by Hamid Ali, Supervisor of the Ibrahim Khalil Gate Complex, and included prominent figures such as Şırnak Mayor Mohammed Yarka and Şırnak Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Osman Gelis.

During the visit, discussions centered on streamlining customs procedures and improving logistical infrastructure to facilitate smoother trade for merchants. Both sides underscored the importance of strengthening economic ties and ensuring more efficient cross-border commerce.

The Ibrahim Khalil border gate is a vital trade route between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey, handling a significant volume of goods daily. Officials expressed optimism that enhanced cooperation and efficiency measures would bolster economic activity and benefit businesses on both sides of the border.
