President Masoud Barzani, on his official Twitter account, published a message on the death of Madeleine Albright, the former US Secretary of State, in which he said
"I see the passing of [Madeleine Albright] as a personal loss to me as she and I had been friends for decades. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the United States government and to her family, may she rest in eternal peace."
