Council of Ministers approve high council of women development bylaws
Council of Ministers on Wednesday held its weekly meeting led by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani.
The Council of Ministers was briefed on the draft of the high council of women development's bylaws. The Premier addressed the importance of women in the Kurdistan Region, underlining KRG will to remove gender inequality and increasing their societal role.
The council amended and approved the draft as the ministers of education and higher education and scientific research moved on to student enrolment.
Equal opportunities for high school graduates was discussed - while ministers noted the quality of education must be preserved. The council tasked the relevant ministries to give universities and colleges the resources needed to avoid repeating this year’s problems.
The head of the foreign relations department discussed KRG attempts to stop migrants trying to enter Europe from Belarus.
Council of Ministers told ministry of interior to take legal measures against those putting migrant lives in jeopardy. They said efforts to help those stuck abroad must continue.
