President Nechirvan Barzani visits Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in London
Concluding his official visit to London, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani visited the British Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMASandhurst), the UK’s largest military academy, renowned Internationally, where a number of students from the Kurdistan Region and Iraq are enrolled and being trained.
The RMASandhurst officials presented a brief note about the work and mission of the academy where ranking military commanders receive education and training. The academy enrolls students from across the world, including from Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and where academic education is combined with training and military capacity development.
For his part, President Nechirvan Barzani reiterated the importance of partnership and the Kurdistan Region’s participation in such programs as part of Iraq.
The President congratulated the Iraqi and the Kurdistan Region’s students at the academy and wished them success. The President described their participation as important to the Kurdistan Region and hoped for stronger participation from Kurdistan and thanked the UK government for arranging this opportunity.
The President concluded his visit after signing the guest book and thanking the RMASandhurst officials.
