President Masoud Barzani received, on Wednesday, in Salah al-Din, Nuri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law coalition, and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting discussed the political situation at the Iraqi and regional levels, the threats of terrorism and the challenges of the Iraqi political process.

The meeting also highlighted Iraq's upcoming elections, and both sides stressed that in order to ensure that the elections lead to stability and the health of the political process, the elections must be held on time, there must be a guarantee that free and fair elections will be held in a peaceful and free environment and without interference and that all parties will respect the results of the elections and the will of the people.
