Turkey announces "massive operation" for its forces in eastern Sulaimani
On Tuesday, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced a massive operation of its forces in Iraq (Sulaimani), noting that it "targeted 28 targets of the "PKK" terrorists, during which it destroyed the headquarters, shelters and weapons depots of the separatist organization.
The Turkish Ministry of Defense said, in a statement, that "Minister, Hulusi Akar, supervised from the Air Force Operations Center the process of destroying 28 targets of the PKK, in northern Iraq."
The ministry published pictures and scenes of the air operations, confirming that Akar was accompanied in the air operations center by Chief of General Staff Yasar Guler, and the commanders of the ground forces, Lieutenant-General Musa F. Sefer, and the navy, Adnan Ozbal.
The military operations carried out by the Turkish army in northern Iraq, which it says are directed against PKK militants present in Iraqi territory, are causing anger in Baghdad and have led to tension in relations between the two countries in the past period.
