Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani met a delegation from the Syrian National Coalition, the main opposition group to the Syrian regime, headed by Ahmad Jarba, the president of the organization.

The political, security, and humanitarian aspects of the Syrian civil war, as well as preparations for the planned Geneva II conference on Syrian were discussed in today’s meeting. The President expressed his deep concern over the deteriorating crisis in Syria and said the Kurdistan Region is following events in Syria closely.

President Barzani also underlined the importance of unification of all the disparate opposition groups in Syria.
The two also expressed their deep concerns about the threat of terrorists groups operating in Syria and the overall impact of the war on Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
