Status of Omari Khawar to be put in Netherlands
On the annual conference for banning the use of chemical weapons, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCEW) has decided to put the statue of Omari Khawar, the iconic symbol of Halabja, in the organization`s headquarters office.


The conference was held in December 2, 2013, attended by 102 countries and featuring 52 community organizations.

The Halabja Victims Group also participated in the conference, and Goran Adham, District Officer of Halabja, represented the family of the victims in the event.

Upon his return, in a press conference, the District Officer Goran Adham stated that the statue of Omari Khawar is goint to be put in the OPCEW Office before March 16th.
