President Barzani Meets Ambassadors of Japan and Kuwait
The newly appointed Kuwaiti ambassador to Iraq, Ghasan Abdulbari, extended the greetings of the Emir of Kuwait to President Barzani and announced that his country will open its consulate general in Erbil soon. The President welcomed this important step by the government of Kuwait and said this will further strengthen ties between the two sides.
In a separate meeting, President Barzani also met with Japan’s ambassador to Iraq, Masato Takaoka. In this meeting, the two discussed developments in Iraq and the plight of Syrian refugees in Kurdistan. The Japanese ambassador said the purpose of his visit to Erbil was to provide aid from his country to Syrian refugees here.
