Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government Nechirvan Barzani said during his speech at the Energy conference which was held in Erbil, that Iraq should have an energy system that everyone can benefit from.


The Energy conference was held on Monday, December 02, 2013, in the city of Erbil with the attendance of the KRG Prime Minister, his Deputy Emad Ahmed, Minister of Natural Recourses Ashti Hawrami, the Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz and number of officials and representatives of the local and international companies.


Nechirvan Barzani said that this is the first time that Kurdistan Region is being a partner and a participator in achieving an energy project.


The Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz met earlier with Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs Husayn Shahristani.


Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs Husayn Shahristani said they agreed that approval by Baghdad government would be required for any oil export from Iraq.
