Kurdistan Prime Minister, Nechirvan Barzani and the Vice President of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) today November 18, arrived in Sulaimaniyah to negotiate new cabinet. The delegation is reportedly holding a meeting with Patriotic Union. A meeting with Change opposition is scheduled right after.

Barzani is discussing the formation of the eighth cabinet of Kurdistan regional government with Barham Salih and leaders of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in the city of Sulaimaniyah, unofficial sources confirmed.

Barzani is also supposed to meet Nawshirwan Mustafa, the leaders of Change opposition and his delegation to negotiate new cabinet, today.

Early this month, Nechirvan Barzani was elected as KRG’s new prime minister. He has one month to form the eighth cabinet of KRG.

According to the official statistics provided by the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC), the KDP won 38 seats in the legislative elections, the Change Movement won 24 seats, the PUK 18, the KIU 10, the KIG 6, and the Kurdistan Islamic Movement (KIM) 1.
