Prime Minister: Our borders with Western Kurdistan open and humanitarian aids continuous
7 January (Gulan Media) Prime Minister, Nechirvan Barzani, announces in a press conference on Monday that our borders with Western Kurdistan are open and that the humanitarian aids have been continuous to help our Kurdish brothers in Syria.

He has explained that some media channels demagogically broadcast rumours about closing borders with the Western Kurdistan. These are all untrue stories and are done for political purposes.

He has also commented on Iraqi president's health saying "medical reports show that his health is stable, so we do not have anything to say about his successor and that any speech about this is immoral both politically and ethically."

"We, as Kurdistan Regional government, have only one border gate with Syria, which is Faysh khabur and it is all water. We will try to build a bridge so that the humanitarian aids will easily be sent to the people there. However, our priority is to protect people of Kurdistan against any possible attacks that may occur on the borders. Although the borders between Iraq and Syria in Zumar are considered Kurdistan areas, they are run by the federal government and we cannot open or close them." He explained.

He has also reiterated Kurdistan Region's attitude about both solving the problems with Baghdad and solving Kurdish question in Syria and Turkey by peaceful means and through dialogue.
