Turkey jets bomb Qandil Mountains
In a major air-to-ground operation, Turkey fighter planes and attack helicopters bombed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) positions in Qandil Mountains near borders with Kurdistan Region on Friday, reported Rudaw.

Zap, Jawaro, Shajaw, Sita and other areas were the main target of the Turkish bombardment.

Bakhtiar Dogan, a spokesperson for the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), told Rudaw, “For two days, Turkish fighter planes have been bombing Qandil and Kurdistan’s border areas, but so far we do not have an exact report on casualties.”

The operation comes as a response to PKK simultaneous attack on Turkish military in Shamzinan area.
