KRP Condemns Anti-Islam Movie, Sadr urges Baghdad to close down US-Embassy
Kurdistan Regional Presidency condemned an American movie which portrayed Islam and its prophet Mohammad, engaged in crude and offensive behavior. Sadr Current also urged America to officially apologize for the movie’s offensive direct towards Muslim and ask Baghdad to close down US embassy.

Kurdistan Regional Presidency (KRP) released a statement, condemning the anti-Islam movie. “All should respect the values and sanctities of the religions of each other and keep themselves away from violent acts and reactions which are against the principles of religions and human values.” Said the statement

The movie posted on YouTube under various titles, including “Innocence of Muslims” caused harsh reaction from several Muslim countries including Egypt, Libya, and Yemen.

U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other embassy staff were killed after a mob stormed the American consulate in the eastern city of Benghazi late Tuesday.

In a statement by Sadr Martyr's office which was issued Thursday immediately after public demonstration in Baghdad against the "anti-Muslim" movie, Sadr Current's leader, the radical Shiite clergy, Muqtada Sadr urged the US to offer apologies to the Muslim world.

The statement said " we condemn the insult of the US-Israeli media against the character of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) and also the offense against the Prophet through production of a film which shows their [America and Israel's] spite towards Islam and its Prophet."

The statement ended in a four of demands: such insults be stopped or there will a reaction to any offense; Iraqi government should close down US Embassy to Baghdad and the US government should apologize for the movie; the Arab countries close down the US embassies and do not deal with the US at all; and all Muslim and Arabs should stage demonstrations against this "abhorrent act by the US-Israeli media."

Violent protests continued across the Arab world yesterday and claimed at least seven lives, three of them near the US embassy in Sudan's capital city, NBC News reports. Security officers in Khartoum fired tear gas at about 5,000 angry demonstrators, who were also protesting at nearby British and German embassies.

The aggressive wave of protest sparked to Tunes, Lebanon and Mauritania, claimed several lives in each country.
