KRG yet to approve bill for Negotiations Council, says official
– Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has not approved yet the bill for the Supreme Negotiations Council, said coordinator of affairs between Kurdistan Parliament and the KRG.

The final bill for Supreme Negotiations Council between Erbil and Baghdad has not been approved yet but a report about the draft has been prepared, Saed Khaled stated.

He said "we are looking forward to meet with Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani over the report. Once the report is approved, it will be send to Kurdistan Parliament."

Khaled added the report will be united with the opposition draft in one bill, ready for voting.

On Aug. 6 the Kurdistan Parliament held an advisory meeting to form a Supreme Negotiations Council with the Iraqi federal government regarding disputed matters between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad.

All the participants in the meeting demanded the formation of the council, describing it important and necessary.

In the second meeting of parliament regarding the draft law on Aug. 11, the parliament asked the KRG to prepare a draft law and submit it to parliament.

The second private meeting of Kurdistan Parliament for the bill is expected to be held soon.

Last week the deputy head of the Kurdistani faction in the Kurdistan Parliament said the KRG has begun preparing the draft law of the Supreme Negotiations Council.

Omer Nouradini said all parliament factions are waiting for the KRG to submit the draft law of the Supreme Negotiations Council to the Kurdistan Parliament so that it works on it.
