We reject modified supplementary budget draft law again, says Sadrist Movement
– A member of Iraqi parliamentary finance committee from the Sadrist Movement said they reject the modified supplementary budget again.
Earlier the Iraqi government approved the 2012 supplementary budget draft law, which consisted of 11tr IQD. But Iraq's parliamentary finance committee rejected the draft law.

Majida Tamimy said the draft law was sent to the finance committee via Iraq’s Finance Ministry, and was then supposed to be sent by the Council of Ministers or Iraq’s Presidency. Therefore the referral is informal.

The draft law contains two amendments, one of which is transferring 153m IQD from the allocated budget for paying loans to independent companies to the Defense Ministry for meeting air defense needs. The second amendment is a reduction of 13.4bn IQD from the allocated money for the presidency budgets.

Tamimy also said: "We reject this draft law because, as a supplementary budget, its clauses have not been changed. It's only for spending the wealth of the nation."
