The Defense Ministry today announced that hundreds of troops have been detained or eliminated from the military. No exact numbers were given, nor were any Taliban ties disclosed, reports the AP; but a rep says those who were booted had either incomplete or forged documents. The move comes on the heels of a six-month investigation. This year's green-on-blue death toll stands at 45, with 15 killed in August alone.
