Zebari to participate in NAM meeting in Iran
The Iraqi government announced that the country's Foreign Minister Hoshiyar Zebari will participate in a meeting of foreign ministers of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Tehran today.
The Foreign Ministry said in a statement: “The ministerial meeting comes in order to make an agenda and decisions of the sixth summit of heads of states and governments of the Non-Aligned Movement.

"The summit will discuss the challenges facing the movement and its future, especially the world economic crisis and achieving the development goals in eradicating poverty, improving health and education services and fixing and reforming the United Nations system, the Security Council, Arab-Israeli conflict, the Syrian crisis, Iran's nuclear program and the right of peaceful use of nuclear energy for civilian purposes and issues of disarmament and non-proliferation."

Iraq's Vice President Khudair al-Khuzaie will participate in the meeting as head of the delegation. He is going to the meeting on behalf of President Jalal Talabani.

About 100 states are participating in the meeting, which lasts two days.
