Parliamentary committee criticizes Iraqi government for impeding Syrian refugees to enter Iraq
– Iraq's parliamentary human rights committee has criticized the Iraqi government's position towards the impediments imposed to stop Syrian refugees entering the country and described such as move as against human rights principles.
Committee member Ashwaq Jaf said: "The Iraqi government's movement towards Syrian refugees is not appropriate and convenient, and it is trying to halt refugees entering Iraq to save their lives.

"The government at first denied the entrance of Syrian refugees to Iraq. Then later it opened the border for them but now it is trying to impede the refugees. It is inhumane to stop refugees entering your soil."

Jaf believed that the Iraqi government must help the migrants and not stop them.

If the government thinks that there are terrorists among the refugees, it can put more security measures and watch them carefully in camps, he added. The camps must also have all types of services such as water, electricity and others.

The Iraqi government has been trying to stop Syrian refugees cross the Qaem border to Iraq for some days.
