Biden to visit Iraq soon
The US Vice President Joe Biden is expected to visit Bagdad in the coming few days as Washington is intensifying efforts to resolve the political crisis in Iraq, Saudi Arabian Watan newspaper reported today.

Biden will be accompanied by a delegation of security and political experts, said an advisor to Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

The US Embassy to Baghdad has well-prepared for Biden's visit, said the advisor who demanded anonymity.

The source added there is a chance that the US senior official presses the Iraqi government to resolve the issues by compromising.

In a phone call on Wednesday US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton discussed with her Iraqi counterpart Hoshyar Zebari the political situation in Iraq and the situation in Syria and informed Zebari about the expected visit of a senior US delegation to Baghdad.
