EU delegation visits KRG's foreign relations office
Head of foreign relations Falah Mustafa welcomed O'Brien and discussed the situation in the region and the current political crisis in Iraq, said a statement from the Kurdistan Regional Government.
Mustafa mentioned that the Kurdistan Region has a representative in the European Union and described opening an EU office in the region as a crucial move. He said such a move would improve relations between the region and the EU.
O'Brien said: "Some EU members have representatives in the Kurdistan Region and they are optimistic about the level of their relations with the region. Therefore it is necessary to deliver the Kurdistan Region's message to the EU."
Both sides highlighted the memorandum of understanding that was signed between Iraq and the EU five months ago.
