An amendment to a current law will change the retirement age of university teachers to 70 and school teachers to 65 years, an MP said.
The members of the Higher Education Committee at Iraqi Council of Representatives have all agreed to amend the law of teachers' service and the bill will see its first reading on Monday, said Abd Ziyab, committee chairman.

Ziyab said according to the amendment the teachers holding bachelor and diploma certificates should retire at the age of 65 and holders of higher certificates at age of 70.

He added when necessary the committee may increase the service years even more.
