Maliki invited to Moscow
Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki today received an official invitation to visit Russian capital, Moscow, according to a statement by Iraqi PM's office.
Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Michael Bogdanov, accompanied by a delegation, met with Maliki today and submitted the invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Iraqi PM stressed on the urgency to improve political, economic and trade relations with Russia.

Maliki also called for creating high joint committees to follow up the implementation of the agreements between the two countries.

The Russian delegation also expressed its country's willingness to improve ties with Iraq in all fields, in particular oil and gas.
