Kurdistan, Iraq airline cooperation should be boosted
General Director of Sulaimani International Airport said Sunday that there is no strong cooperation of airline services between Kurdistan and Baghdad and calls for airline field to be included in KRG framework.

Engineer Tahir Abdulla General Director told PUKmedia that the International Airport of Sulaimani is a part of Iraqi airline system, but the level of cooperation between two sides is low.

“We hope we could improve the link through the KRG and Kurdish representatives in Baghdad to include the region’s viewpoints in the decision-making committee,” he added.

He also said that airline field should be included in the KRG framework to face the problems.

Sulaimani International Airport is an airport 15 kilometers outside of the city of Sulaimani, in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. The airport has facilities for both cargo and passengers. Sulaimani International Airport has three terminals for departures, arrivals and VIP. The construction of the airport began in November 2003, and it was inaugurated in July 2005.
