The Ministry of Electricity in Kurdistan Regional Government announced that it would work to increase hours of electricity supply during this month from 18 to 20 hours a day.

The hours of electricity supply reduced to 16 hours per day during the past three months due to increasing demand on electricity for heating because of the low temperatures during the winter.

the ministry has signed several contracts with local companies to set up electricity generating stations and secondary stations.
