- Kurdistan Region Ministry of Industry and Trade has formed a committee to investigate why 75% of government factories are out of work.

Srud Ahmed, planning director at the Ministry told AKnews only five out of 20 government factories are running. The rest stopped working gradually.

After the committee reports the reason why the factories stopped working, the Ministry will study their prospects and decide whether to re-launch them with public finance.

The number of private factories is far greater than the government ones. Ahmed said that last year alone 299 factories were founded in Kurdistan.
