Head of Foreign Affairs Department in Kurdistan Regional Government , in a press statement on Tuesday , said that the Iraqi government has approved the opening of the United Arab Emirates consulate in Erbil , the Capital of Kurdistan Region .

The Iraqi Council of Ministers has approved the recommendation of the Foreign Affairs Ministry about the opening of a UAE consulate in Kurdistan Region’s Capital Erbil, Falah Mustafa added.

A noteworthy to mention, KRG has representations in a number of countries among them: the United States of America , Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, Sweden, Australia, Austria and Sweden, while the number foreign countries representations in the Region reached 24, including the representations of Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, Iran, Britain , the United States and Palestine.
