Kurdistan Government Expands 24-Hour Electricity Supply in Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, and Duhok

Erbil, Kurdistan Region – As part of its ongoing efforts to provide 24-hour electricity, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is expanding the Ronaki project to ensure continuous national power supply in more areas. The Ministry of Electricity has announced that eight additional neighborhoods in Erbil—Koran, Rizgari, Kurdistan, Bahar, Krekarn, Azadi, Majidawa, and Rasti—will now receive uninterrupted electricity, benefiting over 28,000 new subscribers.

This expansion follows the successful implementation of the project in five other Erbil neighborhoods—Shadi, Bahari Nwe, Naznaz, Bakhtyari, and Sarbasti—where 22,000 residents already have access to sustainable electricity. With the latest extension, the total number of beneficiaries is expected to reach 50,000 subscribers.

Meanwhile, similar steps are being taken in Sulaymaniyah and Duhok, where technical preparations are underway to connect selected neighborhoods to continuous electricity. According to the Ministry, these areas are set to receive 24-hour power by the end of February.

For inquiries or to report issues, citizens can contact the Ronaki project service center at 1992, available daily from 9 AM to 9 PM.
