Erbil, Kurdistan Region – Following a decision made at the most recent meeting of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Council of Ministers and upon the recommendation of KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, a KRG delegation visited the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, to hold talks with the Federal Ministry of Finance regarding the issue of salaries and financial entitlements for the Kurdistan Region.

According to an official statement, the discussions between the two sides were described as positive, resulting in a shared understanding on the disbursement of salaries for employees in the Kurdistan Region.

As a result, the payment process for the October 2024 salaries will begin on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. The KRG also announced that salaries for the following two months will be distributed as soon as the additional funds allocated for salaries are received from the Federal Ministry of Finance in Baghdad.

The KRG expressed its gratitude to the employees of the Kurdistan Region for their patience and resilience, emphasizing its commitment to safeguarding their rights under all circumstances.
