Qatar Airways Maintains Daily Flights to Erbil Amid Middle East Tensions
Despite recent unrest in the Middle East, Qatar Airways flights to Erbil International Airport continue to operate without interruption, confirmed Ahmed Hoshyar, director of the airport, on Thursday.
Hoshyar clarified that Qatar Airways had only submitted a request to adjust its winter schedule, not to suspend flights. Under the updated schedule, Qatar Airways will operate daily flights to Erbil, arriving at 7:00 a.m. and departing at 8:15 a.m. “Qatar Airways is permitted to operate two flights within a 24-hour period and continues to maintain one daily flight to Erbil,” Hoshyar stated.
This assurance follows Qatar Airways' recent announcement of a temporary suspension of certain flights to Iraq, Iran, and Lebanon due to regional tensions and a commitment to passenger safety. However, flights to Erbil, the capital of Iraq’s Kurdistan Region, are not affected by this temporary suspension.
Qatar Airways provides a critical connection between Erbil and numerous international destinations, ensuring safe and consistent travel options despite heightened tensions in the region.
