Governor of Erbil Lays Foundation Stone for "Bunbêrz" Village Road
Erbil, Kurdistan Region - Governor of Erbil, Omed Khoshnaw, laid the foundation stone for the "Bunbêrz" village road on Saturday, marking the commencement of a significant infrastructure project under the directives of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani. This project is part of the broader service initiatives being implemented by the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government, aimed at enhancing both urban and rural areas.
In a press conference, Governor Khoshnaw emphasized that the initiation of the "Bunbêrz" village road project is in response to previously postponed service needs. "The laying of this foundation stone reflects our commitment to providing essential services to all areas," he stated.
Khoshnaw highlighted the importance of equitable distribution of service projects, ensuring that both cities and rural areas receive the necessary infrastructure improvements. "All service projects must be equally distributed between urban and rural areas, from basic services to secondary ones," he added.
The governor also announced that following the completion of the "Bunbêrz" village road, the project will move into its second phase. This phase involves paving the streets of several villages, including Gayanj, Bunbêrz, Sheikhashl, and Girdachal, covering a total length of 10 kilometers. The entire project is estimated to cost 2.1 billion dinars.
Khoshnaw reiterated the Kurdistan Regional Government's commitment to ongoing and future projects, particularly in the water sector. "There are many other projects, especially in the field of water, some of which are currently underway, and others that will commence in the future," he assured.
