On Wednesday, 8 May 2024, the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced that the Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) has officially joined the 'My Account' initiative. This program aims to digitise the salaries of public sector employees.

Following directives from KRG Prime Minister, Masrour Barzani, representatives from the government and the 'My Account' team held several meetings this week with TBI representatives. These discussions centred on the mechanisms and requirements for opening bank accounts, issuing bank cards, and providing ATM machines throughout the Kurdistan Region.

Alongside six other major Iraqi banks, TBI now offers a broad range of banking products and services, which marks a significant development for public sector employees in both the Kurdistan Region and Iraq as a whole.

The Ministry expressed its delight over this partnership, anticipating a positive impact on the residents of the region.
