In the aftermath of the devastating terrorist attack in Moscow, which claimed the lives of over 100 individuals and left 140 others injured, global leaders have swiftly expressed solidarity and condemnation. The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has joined the chorus of condemnation, emphasizing its unwavering stance against terrorism.

KRG Interior Minister Reber Ahmed conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani during a solemn visit to the Russian Consulate General in Erbil. "We as the Kurdistan Regional Government have an unchanging stance against terrorism," Minister Ahmed reiterated to Kurdistan24 on Monday.

Underlining the broader ramifications of such atrocious acts, Minister Ahmed stressed that terrorism remains a significant global threat. "The terrorist attack in Moscow tells us that terrorism is not over," he asserted.

Minister Ahmed emphasized the imperative for coordinated efforts and international cooperation to effectively combat terrorism.

The attack, executed by four gunmen at a concert hall in northern Moscow, sent shockwaves throughout the international community. ISIS swiftly claimed responsibility for the assault, prompting immediate action from Russian authorities.

President Vladimir Putin was briefed by the head of the Federal Security Service (FSB), who confirmed the arrest of 11 individuals, including four directly involved in the heinous terrorist act.
