In a significant conference held in Erbil on Sunday, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani highlighted the substantial progress made in the Kurdistan Region's foreign and international relations in recent years. The Prime Minister delivered a comprehensive speech, emphasizing the increasing number of consulates and diplomatic envoys in the region, signaling a positive trend.

During his address, Prime Minister Barzani expressed the government's intention to further enhance its global presence. He outlined plans to establish additional representative offices of the Kurdistan Regional Government abroad and open offices in several friendly and strategically important countries that already host consulates in Kurdistan. The primary goal is to promote friendship and foster economic, cultural, scientific, and academic relations.

Reflecting on international engagement, Barzani commended the Kurdistan Region's participation in high-level delegations and international conferences. He asserted that, as a constitutional and legal entity within Iraq, the Kurdistan Region has consistently contributed to security and peace in both Iraq and the broader region. The Prime Minister affirmed the government's commitment to strengthening foreign and international relations based on mutual interest and respect.

Acknowledging the Kurdistan Region's stability and its role as a center for peaceful coexistence among diverse communities, Barzani stressed that the region has never posed a threat to any nation. He reiterated the government's commitment to extending a hand of friendship to all neighboring countries and the international community at large, emphasizing the importance of respecting the sovereignty of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

Expressing gratitude, Barzani thanked countries that have supported the Kurdistan Region in various challenging stages, particularly in the defeat of ISIS terrorists. He highlighted the Kurdistan Region's pride in its relations with international allies and reiterated the commitment to democratic principles, peaceful coexistence, and the rule of law.
