Kurdish Leader Masoud Barzani Welcomes New South Korean Consul in Erbil

In a diplomatic encounter, Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani hosted the newly appointed Consul General of the Republic of South Korea to the Kurdistan Region, Singchul Lim, today at the Salahaddin Resort near the capital Erbil.

Expressing his delight at the assignment, Consul Singchul Lim commended the pivotal role played by the people of Kurdistan and the Kurdish Peshmerga forces in their relentless pursuit of freedom and security. The discussions during the meeting centered around fostering the longstanding friendship between the two nations and exploring avenues for further collaboration across various sectors.

The South Korean consul conveyed his country's eagerness to strengthen ties with the Kurdistan Region, pledging to enhance cooperation in diverse fields. Acknowledging the support extended by the people and government of South Korea, as well as the South Korean Zaytoun forces, President Barzani expressed gratitude for their assistance to the Kurdistan Region.
