Kurdistan Prime Minister Inaugurates Modern School, Emphasizes Commitment to Education Reforms
The Prime Minister, during the opening of the Majdi School and Kindergarten in Erbil, stated: "We have made significant progress in reforming the education sector, and we will continue to build new schools."
The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, inaugurated the Majdi School and Kindergarten in the Hawa residential complex in Erbil on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
In a special ceremony attended by several officials, the Prime Minister expressed his happiness at the inauguration of this educational center, which is equipped with the latest teaching methods. He mentioned the commitment to launch more similar schools in all cities of the region to serve students.
He praised the efforts of those responsible for establishing this school, which boasts modern technological facilities and an ideal classroom setup. He also commended the dedication of the teachers in continuing the educational journey, which creates a sense of security and confidence for students.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the school is not just about education but also about raising and preparing students for life, especially in how to deal with daily challenges during their life journey. He further stated that the government is responsible for providing an educational environment suitable for students despite the challenges it faces.
While renewing many existing schools and building new ones, Kurdistan still needs more. He noted that the government is working diligently to achieve this goal after making significant progress in reforming the education sector. He also praised the performance of the Minister of Education, Alan Hama Said, for his dedication and work and thanked all educational staff for their commitment to their work.
He expressed his regret over some entities exploiting the issue of teachers' salaries by inciting them not to return to schools, emphasizing that the regional government was not the cause of salary delays.
The Prime Minister stressed that the first lesson students should learn from teachers is determination, resilience, and perseverance. He called on everyone to cooperate in raising students with kindness and not to surrender to any challenges they face in their daily lives.
He urged all political parties to stand by the government in defending the rights of workers, teachers, and all the citizens of the region, and he emphasized that the government will not abandon their rights under any circumstances.
