Iran Parades Advanced Military Hardware on Anniversary of Iraq War, Unveils Longest-Range Drone

Iran showcases ballistic and hypersonic missiles alongside its latest drone technology during a military parade commemorating the 1980s war with Iraq.

In a highly publicized event marking the anniversary of its conflict with Iraq, Iran displayed an impressive array of military hardware, including what it claims to be "the longest-range drone in the world." Iranian state media provided live coverage of the parade, where a series of drones were showcased, notably named Mohajer, Shahed, and Arash.

Iran had previously announced the development of an advanced drone known as Mohajer-10, characterized by its extended flight range, increased endurance, and enhanced payload capacity. According to reports, this drone boasts an operational range of 2,000 kilometers (1,240 miles) and can remain airborne for up to 24 hours. Furthermore, it is reported to have a payload capacity of 300 kilograms (661 pounds), twice that of the Mohajer-6 drone.

The United States has recently accused Iran of supplying Mohajer-6 drones, among other unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), to Russia, alleging their use in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. In response to Tehran's alleged proliferation of UAVs, Washington has expanded sanctions related to Iran, citing its role in enabling Russia, its regional proxies, and other destabilizing actors in the Middle East.

This display of advanced military technology underscores Iran's ongoing efforts to assert itself as a regional power and highlights the evolving dynamics in the Middle East, where advanced weaponry plays a crucial role in geopolitical strategies.
