Turkey Extends Suspension of Flights with Sulaymaniyah Airport
Sulaimani, Kurdistan Region (July 3, 2023): The Turkish government has extended the suspension of flights with Sulaymaniyah International Airport for another six months, Sulaimani Governor Haval Abubakr told Kurdistan24 on Monday.
The suspension, which was first imposed in March 2022, is due to expire on July 3, 2023. The new suspension will go into effect on July 4, 2023 and will last until December 3, 2024.
The suspension of flights with Sulaymaniyah International Airport is expected to have a significant impact on the economy of Sulaymaniyah. The airport is a major hub for trade and tourism, and the suspension will make it more difficult for businesses and people to travel to and from the city.
The suspension is also expected to have a negative impact on the local tourism industry. Sulaymaniyah is a popular tourist destination, and the suspension of flights will make it more difficult for tourists to visit the city.
