Gas Explosion in Garmian Kills One, Injures Five
A gas explosion in the Garmian administration area on Sunday morning claimed the life of one person and injured five others, local authorities confirmed.
The explosion occurred in Kalar, where six injured individuals were rushed to Shahid Hazhar Emergency Hospital. According to Lieutenant Colonel Ali Jamal Qaduri, spokesperson for the Garmian police, the victims sustained partial burns caused by the gas system explosion.
Among the injured was 10-year-old Arsh Ahmed Hassan, who tragically succumbed to severe burns. His father, brother, and two sisters were also injured and remain under medical care.
“The victim’s body has been sent to the forensic department in Kalar for an autopsy. Police have visited the site and initiated an investigation into the cause of the explosion,” Qaduri said.
Authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
