Iraqi Prime Minister calls on Kurdish leader, Masoud Barzani, to support building a new Iraq

Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani delivered a speech on Thursday, calling on Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani to continue supporting the political process and the development of a new Iraq. The speech was given during the opening ceremony of Barzani's National Memorial.

Al-Sudani praised the sacrifices of the Kurds, Arabs, and other Iraqi communities who fought together against the tyranny and crimes of Saddam's Baath Party. He emphasized that the martyrs of the Kurdish people and the Iraqi national movement wanted to leave behind a country where justice, equality, honor, and dignity are prevalent.

The Iraqi Prime Minister expressed the responsibility to continue the process of development and construction, to make a difference and reform the state apparatus, and to achieve a government that serves its people. He stressed that the satisfaction of the people is a significant challenge that requires immediate action and reconstruction.

Al-Sudani also acknowledged the efforts of the Iraqi government in prioritizing government work since the first day of forming the government, addressing files that directly impact citizens. He emphasized the importance of not missing any opportunity built on the sacrifices and struggles of the people and their leaders.

In his concluding remarks, Al-Sudani saluted the great role of Mr. Masoud Barzani and expressed confidence in the continuation of his constructive role and national contributions in supporting the political process and building the new Iraq.

The speech highlighted the importance of unity among all Iraqi communities, as they work towards building a brighter future for their country.
