PM Barzani meets Italian Commander to discuss enhancing relations and military cooperation
Kurdistan's Prime Minister, Masrour Barzani, received the Italian Commander of the forces in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, Colonel Daniele Pesani, on Monday, April 10th.
The meeting was held to mark the end of Colonel Pesani's duties in the region. The Italian delegation also included Colonel Stefano Salvadori, the new commander of the Italian forces in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
During the meeting, Barzani thanked Italy for its support to the Kurdistan Region and expressed his wishes for the former commander's success in his future missions. He also congratulated the new commander of the Italian forces in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region on assuming his duties.
Discussions centered on ways to enhance relations between the Kurdistan Region and Italy, as well as a discussion of reforms in the Peshmerga Ministry.
The Italian military delegation reiterated their country's commitment, as part of the international coalition, to support the Peshmerga forces, particularly in the area of training.
