Kurdistan Region Attracts Over $67 Billion in Investments Since 2006, Foreign Projects Doubled in 2021
The Kurdistan Regional Government's Board of Investment has released figures showing that since 2006, more than 1,110 projects, totaling over $67 billion, have been invested in the Kurdistan Region. Out of these, 45 projects were foreign investments from 16 countries.
Foreign investors account for 15.12% of the total investment projects, with a total capital of over $10 billion.
Additionally, there are 29 joint projects between domestic and foreign investors with a capital of nearly $2 billion, representing 2.53% of total investment projects.
The data reveals a significant increase in foreign investment in recent years.
In 2021 alone, the number of foreign projects in the Kurdistan Region has doubled. This is a positive sign for the region's economy, which has been affected by years of conflict and instability.
These figures show that the Kurdistan Region is becoming an attractive destination for foreign investors, and this trend is likely to continue.
