An emblem of coexistence, a new school opens in Erbil
Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Saturday opened Meltho International School in Ankawa during a ceremony attended by Hungarian President, Katalin Novák.
“The school was completed in September of this year and uses SABIS system which is used in five other countries,” the school director Sipan Hussein said.
The school so far has 85 students from kindergarten to grade six, but will open classes up to grade 12.
Director Hussein added that there are 30 teachers currently working at the school.
“The English PPP tablet education system is used, while Arabic, Kurdish, and Religion are taught with the methods of governmental schools,” the director noted.
The local Vision Education company has invested $1.4 million to manage the operations of the school for the first five years.
