PM Masrour Barzani meets with Deputy Commander of Coalition Forces
Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Tuesday met with Brigadier-General Carl Harris, the Deputy Commander General of the Coalition Forces in Iraq and Syria.
Both sides discussed the latest regional developments and efforts to combat threats of the Islamic State (ISIS).
Prime Minister Barzani emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between the Iraqi and Peshmerga forces, especially in disputed territories where the ISIS threat is heightened as a result of a security vacuum.
The deputy commander reiterated the Coalition forces’ support for the Peshmerga forces in facing the persisting ISIS threat in the region.
They also discussed the ongoing reforms within the Ministry of Peshmerga, which will enhance the KRG’s security capabilities.
