Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Thursday met Petr Stepanek, the new Czech ambassador to Iraq.

The Premier congratulated the ambassador, wished him luck in his work and said he hoped his appointment will help strengthen ties between Czech Republic, Kurdistan Region, and Iraq.

The ambassador noted the friendly relationship between Erbil and Prague, and wished to expand relations with the Kurdistan Region.

He added that a Czech business delegation is preparing to visit Erbil to discuss trade and investment.

Support to Peshmerga forces, post-election Iraq and the migrant crisis were also discussed.
