KRG Council of Ministers decided to turn Soran and Zakho into independent administrations

The Council of Ministers of the Kurdistan Region met on Wednesday and has decided to turn Soran and Zakho into independent administrations.

In the first part of the meeting, the President and Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the efforts of the regional government to regulate local revenues.

The Prime Minister stressed that the KRG will make every effort to regulate public revenues with the aim of providing salaries to the Kurdistan Region's employees, which is the highest priority of the government.

The Deputy Prime Minister reiterated that his main purpose in reorganizing their incomes was to serve the citizens and called on the Ministries to co-operate.

In the second part of the meeting, the Minister of Health, Saman Barzani, gave a report on the state of health and the significant increase in the number of cases of coronavirus in the Kurdistan Region.

The Council of Ministers stressed the need to take the precautionary measures decided by the last meeting of the High Commission to combat the Corona virus.

The Council of Ministers commended the efforts of the Ministry of Health, the medical staff and health workers.

In the third part, the prime minister proposed the independence of the Soran and Zakho regions.

The Prime Minister indicated that Soran and Zakho are the largest and most important two regions, and that the decision will benefit the citizens of these two regions.
