Four Iraqi soldiers were wounded in an attack launched by ISIS militants on a military post in Daquq district, south of Kirkuk governorate, northern Iraq.

A security source said that the attack took place in the village of Hassan Shallal, where the army and warplanes repelled the attack, indicating that there were casualties among the militants.

On the other hand, a government official in Salah al-Din reported, today, a new targeting of electric power transmission towers from the northern governorates to Baghdad, west of Salah al-Din governorate in northern Iraq.

Hatem Al-Shammari, director of the "Tulul Al-Baj" district, said in a press statement that three towers within the transmission line between Baghdad and the northern governorates fell as a result of a sabotage act by detonating explosive devices, which negatively affected the electricity supply within the areas covered by the transmission line.

Dozens of towers carrying electricity in Salah al-Din Governorate were subjected to sabotage attacks, which were carried out by ISIS elements or beneficiary parties, according to Salah al-Din governorate officials.

In recent months, the attacks of suspected ISIS militants have increased, especially in the area between Kirkuk, Salah al-Din and Diyala.

In 2017, Iraq announced victory over the organization by restoring all the lands invaded by ISIS in the summer of 2014, but the latter still maintains sleeper cells in large areas of Iraq and launches attacks between varying periods.
